Dr. Anthony Bonaventure Mzurikwao is a distinguished legal scholar, advocate and academic with over 15 years of professional experience in legal practice, governance, public administration, research and higher education. He currently serves as a Lecturer in Law at the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy, where he has held several senior leadership and governance responsibilities.
Dr. Mzurikwao is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts thereto, with extensive expertise in international trade and finance law, investment law, banking, procurement, human resource management, governance and regulatory compliance. Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to institutional governance through his service as Chairperson and Member of the Tender Board at the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy, as well as Acting Head of Legal Services and Head of Human Resource Academic Section.
Prior to joining the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy, Dr. Mzurikwao served as Assistant Lecturer in Law and LL.B Research Coordinator at Ruaha University College and worked with the National Organisation for Legal Assistance (NOLA) as a Legal Aid Officer, supporting access to justice initiatives and legal advisory services.
Dr. Mzurikwao holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law, a Master of Laws (LL.M) specializing in International Trade, Finance and Investment Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), all from the University of Dar es Salaam. He has authored and contributed to several scholarly legal publications and research works focusing on consumer protection law, electronic banking rights, legislative participation and legal reform in Tanzania.
His extensive experience in legal advisory, institutional governance, policy analysis, compliance oversight, stakeholder engagement and board administration positions him to provide strong independent oversight and strategic guidance as a Non-Executive Director.
